About Me

CURRENT MISSION

going where the wind blows me

ABOUT ME

I'm a kiwi who's been living in australia the last 5+ years but i've had extended periods overseas and frequent trips to the desert for work. i like to have a good time: drinks, music, outdoors, physical challenges, sports, travels. I like to keep things interesting, i do all kinds of crazy things on my travels, and at home actually, i'm a bit offbeat at times!

PHILOSOPHY

never stop learning

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've mostly hosted in australia and surfed a lot around the states meeting amazing people. I don't couchsurf to save money when i'm travelling, i do it because it's way more fun than staying in a hotel. At the moment i'm not travelling but i'd like to get into the CS community in adelaide to meet new people and of course meet travellers passing through

Interests

I play a lot of sport: cricket, field hockey, golf, squash and i run a lot to keep fit. Eating and drinking are some the pleasures of life so I enjoy good stuff but i'm also very partial to four loko and the likes. i love rock n roll possibly even more than cricket and live music is ace, but shit live music is still shit.

Music, Movies, and Books

beatles, stones, dylan, bowie, neil young, grateful dead, the band, velvet underground, that sort of vain, lots of 60s. Also lots of alt/indie sort of stuff like brian jonestown massacre, black keys, black angels, black rebel motorcyle club, beck all the way down the alphabet to the likes of wilco, yeah yeah yeahs and so on, but most of it has some sort retrospective flavour

For books I like the modern classics. A clockwork orange and catcher in the rye are my favourites and I like authors like steinbeck and kerouac

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

backpacked round europe, lived in malaysia for 5 months and traveled a bit round SE asia, spent some time in the states. all good places but NZ is tough to beat.

I'd since revise this because the 8 months of my life in the states prior to just getting back to adelaide recently was about the best time of my life. All expenses paid, working mon-fri and travelling/surfing every weekend. Roadtripping the north east, road tripping west and weekend trips around the mid south... Daaaang!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Indonesia, Ireland, Netherlands, Singapore, Slovakia, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, United States
