Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used to host people in Manipal and also use couch surfing to meet people when I travel.

I am a avid reader of books.
I sometimes try to keep fit by running.
I also like painting. I generally use watercolours or pen and I'm not great. Your five year old brother would probably wrinkle his nose at my painting.

Street Photography is also a passion. I like long photowalks and trying to capture everyday moments.

Music, Movies, and Books

It's impossible to pick a couple of books but generally, I'm a huge classics fan. My new genre of interest is indigenous literature translated to English. I would love book recommendations.

I watch so many chick flicks, my knowledge of them makes me want to cringe. I did take a couple of film courses in my undergrad and have helped in direction of student films so I have a fair knowledge about films in general.

Lately, I have gone over to the dark side and have started listening to pop excessively. All time favourites include the RHCP and the Beatles. I also did learn Indian carnatic music for about 10 years but I don't sing anymore. I do love the sound of the flute and the mandolin and various Indian alternative artists too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have spent a month and a half in Dharamshala volunteering for a newspaper.

I acted in an indie film (It's not a big deal. People don't recognise me on street).

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not very patriotic- studying political science does that to you. But because I read excessively, I know a little bit about India. I love endless conversations about how countries are alike politically, socially and culturally.

My Hindi isn't great but I could am more than willing to practice it on someone. I also know a lot of mythology and folk tales and if you're in the mood for a story. i can call up mother and ask her for home remedies for any health issues. Also, I have a million family anecdotes for every situation.
