About Me

Kia ora, I have lived in Tāmaki Makaurau most of my life. Little bits of me are also in Kerikeri and Ohakune. I love to write, paint, drink wine, and do yoga. Not all at once, but I like a challenge. I like dancing, but I usually do that by myself. I like looking out the window at the many native birds in our garden. I live in a commune, in Parnell, in 'the big house' with 21 other lovely people in an old homestead built in the 1870s. I have spent three years trying to decide what colour to paint my bedroom. Any advice gratefully accepted. I am also a nonbinary trans woman, and that is cool.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

At the big house, we host many travellers; some are couch surfers, and it is always a great experience. I have met and learnt from so many people who are just passing through. So now I am looking to travel, and hopefully explore the experience the other way around.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once flew on a Hercules from Darwin with two crocodiles. Not sure I am proud of it but it was interesting...

Teach, Learn, Share

I grew up as a Jehovah's Witness, so I can teach you how to escape a cult. Crow pose, it's all about getting the knees on the back of the arms. I can share with you how to burn your hands at least once every time you cook—extremely skilled. Otherwise, I love writing - currently finishing my master's in creative nonfiction. I love hearing about other people's writing approaches and experiences and sharing mine.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can make you a chip buttie and a cup of tea. I can also make a mean chocolate mousse out of tofu.

Australia, Cook Islands
