ABOUT ME
From singing to wood-working to yoga, I love creativity in myriad forms. I can be adventurous and spontaneous at times, and thoughtful and cautious at others. I am still unsure of what I want out of life, and am learning to not be afraid of continuing the search.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm learning it is best not to attach yourself to the past. If a certain way of life isn't working, it becomes easier to move on when you are focused on what is ahead rather than what is behind.
I can imagine most people here consider themselves to be "free spirits." I'm not sure I'm completely at that level, but I definitly have that inclination, as being open-minded is extreemly important to me.
I am an open-minded individual. One of my goals in life is to never stop (re)evaluating the difference between my own opinions and those that are being filtered through me. None of us are unhampered by preconceived notions of what should and what shouldn't be, but that doesn't mean we should stop trying to decide which of these notions are right and which are sheer prejudice.
Interests
I moved to New Orleans two years ago to rebuild houses with AmeriCorps. After my ten-month term ended, I went through a yoga teacher-training program, which I finished a couple months ago. I have been a singer, actress, teacher, activist, student, and have held numerous minimum-wage jobs. I am currently spending this summer traveling cross-country with my boyfriend, Sean. For these next two months, my focus is travel and adventure. I am interested in any and all new experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: I love the classic novels and literary sci-fi (think Vonnegut). I also keep up with current events via secondary news sources whenever possible (think Democracy Now!)
Music: All sorts of rock, classical, jazz, etc.
Movies: The wierder the better (Donnie Darko, etc.). If that's not avaible I'll take a good comedy, dark or mind-numbing, any day.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Floating in the dead sea was exactly as I had imagined it as a kid...
Oh, and the kindness of strangers.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a pretty good chef and, as I have recently become a vegan, have been exploring some excellent healthy recipes. I prefer cooking for others rather than just myself. I also love to sing, perfom improv, write, read (especially new and original prose), and practice yoga. I currently work for a rebuilding project and have been trained in many aspects of construction.
