About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To expand my roots and continue reaching. To be like the trees and branch out, to leaf. And , naturally, to learn and practice the puns and wit of this clever, clever world.

ABOUT ME

My best friend said that watching Adventure Time was like being in my mind. But that's only sometimes true. I reckon they would also say that I am a tenderhearted ninja warrior that enjoys collecting rocks, writing haikus, and any and all kinds of adventure.

I'm a loner at heart, but you wouldn't know it most times with how I greet the world. I appreciate fine company in contrast to solitude. I often prefer shared solitude, in that two or more people can be together and share a certain peace. I greatly enjoy the simple things in life, find wonder in the big and small, and relish in learning and discovering. I'm the type of cat that can be content wherever I am, but is more often glad and grateful. I think a lot and sometimes even plan. However, I much rather leave room fer life to unfold on a moment to moment basis, as I like that wiggle room of variability. I'm kind of scatterbrained, and so I mostly organize my thoughts and such with writing. Writing this is getting kind of tedious, though, and I have been getting increasingly distracted.

I like coffee and tea. Food brings people together. I believe community is important, and a building a sense of belonging is key. I always have time to channel my inner youth and play. Every day I seek any and all of which puts the sparkle in my eyes and a smile on my face. I stay up late and sleep just half the morning away, and I try to catch at many sunrises as I can. Dancing is something I do when I want to learn all the ways I can move and feel free.

I mean very well and I like to help. I am happy to help. I have two hands and they are helping hands. I have two arms that love to hug. I have two ears that enjoy listening. I have a mouth that says silly things, and sometimes insightful and comforting things. I've got legs and stuff, too, and they're good fer squatting to pick up heavy things but not really fer running [unless from fierce animals or cops]. Fine walking legs, though, fer long, thoughtful walks.

Have you ever leg-wrestled? Is that an everywhere thing or something invented in my middle school gym class? I'm not saying I'm awesome at it, but I was pretty decent. Anyway, I spend my spare time learning what is mostly universal and what is specific to me/where I grew up. So far, it's been rather fascinating and I am beginning to think I should document these discrepancies as I discover them. For example, that eating bread crusts makes you a better whistler. In growing up, how are you to determine these things as anything but potential truths? I mean, I wouldn't say I'm a champion whistler, but I can whistle something that can rally up a flock of birds if I wanted. All that and I totally bypassed the bread crust intolerant stage of my life. Anyway, food fer thought.

Rambling Jen--check.
Alright alright alright.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've opened up my house to friends and friends of my roommates/friends, but beyond that is dependent on how comfortable/cool my roommates are with it. With that in mind, I'm down fer opening up my home just as well. The whole concept of this website is beautiful, and so I partake/support as much as I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No formal hosting experience yet, but sooner than later hopefully! I have formally couchsurfed once but otherwise hopped around friend's/friends of friends houses when travelling.

Interests

The little things in life get me. I find a lot of joy in simplicity and nature. Meeting new people is pretty rad. Getting to know people is even better. I just really enjoy engaging with the world around me and taking it all in. I spend my time wandering and climbing things, writing, drawing, making/baking/creating, and playin' games.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot about creative and unconventional ways to live life. I'm pretty savvy when it comes to people, minds, and communication. I'm also have a plethora of random knowledge/skills I'm happy to share. I seek to learn and soak it as much as I can. In particular, I have a great interest in learning farming, identifying plants fer edible and medicinal purposes, musical instruments, how to cook/bake more confidently and creatively--really, I just enjoy learning. Teach me how you do things so I can learn about you. From how you cut yer mangoes to how you navigate life, and everything in between.
