About Me
Joined Couchsurfing back in 2013 while I was living in the Philippines but not sure what has happened to my old account then :(
I'm a global citizen: born in Africa, raised in an Asian family, grew up in European and North American education but I have a love and interest for Latin American culture.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I love travelling and helping people while they travel or meet up with them and show them around when I can.
I lived in Ottawa, Canada after joining Couchsurfing so I didn't get the opportunity to host a lot of people. Canada's capital isn't one of the most famous tourist attraction. However, I did have the awesome opportunity to travel with a lot of Couchsurfers in the Philippines.
Interests
FOOD! I believe a country's food says so much about its culture, history and rituals. For me, food isn't just a basic need but it's an art. I love cooking, experimenting with new recipes, hosting dinners for friends and have wonderful conversations over a wonderful meal.
I also love the outdoors and love activities such as hiking. The best hikes I've had have all been the ones where I woke up sore the next day (Rice Terraces in Banaue, Philippines and Table Mountain in South Africa)

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: a bit of old school (Journey, Bon Jovi, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston) and a bit of new stuff (Emeli Sande, Coldplay, Adele, Bruno Mars, Michael Buble)
Movies: anything but crap (and by crap I mean anything similar to Twilight or 50 Shades of Grey)
Books: Dan Brown books, A Song of Ice and Fire series
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My first time Couchsurfing was also my first time travelling alone. I was heading to a masked festival in Bacolod, Philippines but all the hotels/hostels were all full booked. I made my trip public on Couchsurfing and an ambassador of Couchsurfing responded to my message. She never met me before but was doing everything she could to help me. I got to the city for the festival but she mentioned she was on an island a ferry trip away and invited me to join her group. And that was my first time travelling alone, taking unplanned side-trips and meeting some of the most wonderful people. I have decided to travel like so ever since :)
