About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Be a good person, learn & help people, and get better at saving money!

ABOUT ME

In transit!
I was living in Nashville as an adult ESL teacher. Now I'm headed to Poland for a teaching course, and to find a job.

MY PHILOSOPHY

Work hard and be nice (Rafe Esquith)...Chang-jo-hara! (create! in Korean)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hosting and surfing. I would love to be more involved in the local Couchsurfing community when work/time permits.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted, surfed, and met-up with Couchsurfers locally and while traveling. It's generally been a wonderful experience, and led me to some meaningful relationships around the world. I also love telling people about Couchsurfing who've never heard of it!

Interests

In my free time, I love yoga, dance, music, dance music, languages, and learning about teaching! I also try to stay involved in my local community when I have free time.

Music, Movies, and Books

One of my favorite novels is the Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys. I love all kinds of music (but especially hip hop, soul, funk, house...since I was young, I've been a huge fan of the BBC radio dj Gilles Peterson now on BBC 6). http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01fm4ss

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm always so grateful that I've gotten to visit my family abroad so many times. I'm more fixated on people than places, so getting to know them over the years (when I've had the opportunity) has been strange and wonderful. This is such a hard question. Maybe I'd add--riding in the bed of a truck with my brother in Thailand, under the stars--doing a temple-stay in South Korea--dancing in an underground club in Krakow, Poland--visiting and seeing a hip hop show at The Point (community center) in Hunts Point, NYC!

Teach, Learn, Share

As a host, I love sharing cool things to do in Nashville (until recently--just left Nashville).
Activities like yoga or anything outdoors. Movies, books, pop culture recommendations =) Also, I can teach you to bake sunflower seed butter cookies! I can talk to you about teaching and making mixtapes or whatever! I'm fairly into fashion, make up, and decorating, and I love learning new crafts which I can then use in the classroom.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to share my passion for health, yoga, ethics, teaching, music--hang out with you and experience these things. I've been well-matched with hosts before, and we have =)

Countries I’ve Visited

Czech Republic, England, Germany, Laos, Mexico, Poland, Scotland, Thailand, Wales

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, South Korea, United States
