About Me

I believe in kindness and a world full of good-hearted people
I love slow mornings and I am trying to get better at meditation
I will try just about any food once and if I don't like it then I hope there is a glass of red wine close by
I am lover of all (most) music...besides heavy/death metal
I read, but not enough
I love a good banter or meaningful conversation and forge my strongest friendships from those interactions
I find peace in the outdoors, but also a respected fear
In 2018, I hope to live freely, love deeply and listen closely...oh and skydive!
I am just a small-town girl, exploring a big world and I hope our paths cross!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After studying abroad in Zambezi, Zambia and being able to participate in a home-stay, I realized how much more connected to the country, culture I became and the deeper kinship I formed with both peers and my hosts. Now when traveling, I value opportunities such as couchsurfing that allow you to experience and appreciate the true beauty of the country, community and culture you have chosen to be a part and form bonds with people you may not have otherwise had the chance to meet.

Music, Movies, and Books

I grew up in rural America, so country music is a part of my roots. If you hate it, let me give you five songs to change your mind. But I love it all! I have been to numerous DJ sets, Galantis & Marshmello being a couple favs. I have a strong love for Jazz music & Frank Sinatra.

I love watching a good film and I am a huge Tom Hanks fan! A couple of my all-time favorites are A Walk to Remember and Saving Private Ryan.

The last book I read that I couldn't put down was the memoir When Breath Becomes Air.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Helped to raise over $10,000 in my hometown for uninsured men and women in my community to receive free mammograms and breast cancer screening.
