About Me

I'm currently studying abroad in Spain, but exploring Europe during my spare time. I'm studying Spanish and Political Science at university in the States and will graduate next year (a completely terrifying concept). I am hoping to attend graduate school in either Denmark or the UK to study international development and foreign affairs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people, especially while traveling abroad. I think it adds a cool sense of community and makes trips unique and personal.

Interests

I'm quite an avid reader and really enjoy the classics. I'm currently mapping a fair amount of my travels around the favorite places of Hemingway and Joyce (mostly bars) because I'm hoping some of their talent will rub off on me...
I also love writing and am so excited to gain some new material during my travels. I like to play tennis with my family, although I've been a bit out of practice and consistently lose!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite books are The Sun Also Rises, Dubliners, Hector and the Search for Happiness, all about adventures and traveling, if you've ever read any of them. I will read pretty much anything and would love recommendations!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This last March, I hiked about 150km of the Camino de Santiago with a few friends (see photos). It was probably one of the most meaningful things I've ever done, physically and mentally. It was quite challenging but I made some new friends and saw the beautiful countryside of Galicia.

Teach, Learn, Share

I just finished a semester becoming (more or less) fluent in Spanish, so my next goal is to tackle French. I'd love to learn from others who speak the language or have any helpful hints!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love sharing and hearing stories and connecting with people. I have quite a few interesting experiences both in my times at home and abroad that I would be happy to share with you. We can learn so much from ourselves and each other through our experiences, both good and bad, and I'm looking forward to learning a bit from people I'm able to couch surf with!
