ABOUT ME

I'm a pretty free spirit, open-minded and accommodating for anyone from anywhere. I like spending time with good people in nature; a campfire, a forest, near water. I like relaxing into life and enjoying as many experiences as possible. Not a massive thrill seeker but can appreciate the appeal. I like experiencing different cultures and lifestyles and I want to visit as much of the world as possible. I like watching people going about their lives, I find it fascinating!

PHILOSOPHY

Life is for living.
I want to be old and grey looking through volumes of scrap books that I've made on my travels.
When I die, even if it is alone without a husband or children to speak of, I want to look back on my life with no regrets.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm not a big drinker (of alcohol!) but I enjoy good music, going to bars, dancing and hanging out with good people. If you want to go out and have a few drinks I will accompany you, I will provide upbeat conversation and company but I'm not now and have never really been a massive party girl. Having said that, I can have just as much fun not drinking alcohol as someone who has drunk a whole bottle of whiskey! :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm a newbie to couchsurfing but my friend swears by it. I think it's an excellent concept and I'm excited to see what will become of my experiences! I'm open minded and totally non-judgemental, everyone has their preferences and vices and if I'm not what you're looking for in a couchsurfing buddy that's a-ok. Life's too short to sweat the little things!

Interests

I enjoy listening to music and watching films. I particularly enjoy foreign films.
I love learning new things and experiencing new cultures.
I love not being tied down to any societal pressures and having the courage to go after things that I want.
I like going for walks, reading articles, it sounds weird but I like watching the news in a foreign language, makes it less depressing somehow.
I like greenery and flowers, especially a mix of different colours. I like the smell of food cooking and the sound of rain.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a sucker for old movies, I think it's because my mother always said I've got the eyes of an old soul. I feel like I'm not seeing something from the past for the first time, like I've been here before. I like anything that makes me feel something. There's nothing more powerful than passion.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been lucky enough to see some amazing things in my life. I've climbed a mountain in Thailand and led out under an unblemished midnight sky full of starlight and awe. I've seen the sun rise over Angkor Wat in Cambodia and felt the mystery surrounding me come to life. I've seen in my students eyes true understanding of something I've taught them that makes me feel like champion of the world!

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't have a vast array of transferrable skills, but my English is second to none so if you need help with writing anything then I'm your lady! I'm a pretty good cook/baker although without an oven in my current apartment I'm a little out of practise, but cooking in general is always fun and an interesting learning experience. I'm very creative and like making things; I make a lot of my own clothes as nothing off the rack seems to have enough of my personality in it!
