Overview
About Me
I'm a half Korean half American 19 year old that just got done traveling the world for a year! Currently studying in Tallahassee, Florida.
There is absolutely no room in my heart for hate, so if you're a xenophobic, homophobic, or racist individual...look elsewhere! I am very open minded and love travel. I would definitely consider myself a feminist, so if that makes you uncomfortable...again, this probably isn't the place for you.
I'm a bit of a cliche hippie hipster I suppose. Free love, environment, and animals. So if you're passionate about any of those things, I respect that fully.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to share my home and area with others & hopefully get the same in return. Having traveled for so long, and relying solely on the hospitality of other people, I know how difficult it can be to find a place to stay especially when you don't have adequate funds. I've spent several nights on the street and that's not something I want other people to experience.
Interests
I love to sing. And I really love animals-big or small, cats or dogs, I'm very passionate about animal welfare. I'm also very interested in religion. And food. God, I love food.
Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite movie is Across the Universe. I love musicals, but I don't watch very many movies otherwise. Wes Anderson films are great. Or if you want to appeal to my Asian childhood, I can get down with some Studio Ghibli talk.
Game of Thrones is the only TV show I keep up with, but I have seen other shows like Breaking Bad, Skins, Criminal Minds, and Stranger Things.
I love ALL types of music, but Indie/Folk genre suits me best. My favorite artist by far is Keaton Henson, but I have loads of other bands and singers that I listen to. To name a few: Hozier, David Bowie, City and Colour, Tom Odell, Allen Stone, Cage the Elephant, Rachel Sermanni, Amy Winehouse, Fleet Foxes, James Vincent McMorrow, Matt Corby, Mac DeMarco, The Beatles, Arctic Monkeys, and of course Tame Impala.
I just started reading the Harry Potter books. I know, I'm awfully late. Haven't done much reading since I've been on my trip though! Once I'm back in the states, I plan to start some philosophy books recommended by my friend.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'd have to say my gap year before college is by far the coolest thing I've down. I've visited SO many countries and have had the opportunity to meet SO many people.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would be thrilled to learn some new recipes! I've never been a good cook, so learning how to create meals or desserts is something I'd love to learn. I'd also love to learn some new languages or instruments. I'm very intrigued by new religions, and would learn to love about yours!
I'd be willing to teach some of the Korean alphabet to whoever is interested. It's not too difficult to learn how to read Korean. And of course, I could teach English if that's something you'd like to improve. I can't think of anything else I'd be really good at teaching, but if I think of something I'll add it here later.
Above all, I'm ready to share and exchange stories! I love learning about other people and their adventures...and I'm more than ready to tell about my trips. I've grown a lot as a person, and I think even though I'm young, I have a lot of useful advice and stories to share.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can't cook very well, but I love to entertain through singing. Karaoke is my shit. I can provide loads of stories and a decent Bernie Sanders impression.
