About Me

There is so much to say about one human being in one moment and we also constantly change...

I have been living a very mobile life for the last few years. Over time, I have become more and more aware of all the privileges that enabled me to do so. This is one of the reasons why I decided to study mobility and migration academically. I am very passionate about this field since it essentially questions the now, (historical) power structures, global inequalities, and one's own positionality...it pushes me to fight my own ignorance(s).

Before that I studied psychology. As a psychologist, I am very interested in people, their diverse experiences and perspectives. I know that I can learn from everyone and I really appreciate all the encounters that have accompanied me in my journey of learning and growing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I guess my motivation has changed over time...a few years ago I started being interested in other countries and cultures. It changed my perspective on everything and my dearest friends are from all over the world. The people with the biggest impact on my life were "made" at other ends of the same planet. I like to think of all of us as different versions of each other. Couchsurfing is a great way as a surfer to have a more local experience than you usually get in a hostel. As a host you can give someone a comfortable place to stay, you can learn how to share, how to have a big heart, and also how to discover your hometown everyday newly and see it with the eyes of the "unused" (meaning: getting unused to things you might take for granted).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Interesting discussions, an open mind, good listening skills (haha, probably because of my degree in psychology), endless curiosity and questions, and quite good and experimental cooking skills.

Countries I’ve Lived In

Germany, Ghana, Mexico, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, United States
