From Baltimore, artist through and through. I spent the past seven years in Chicago doing the art thing, teaching, learning some Spanish, and working as a nanny. Now I live in Berlin-Neukölln with my husband Pete. He's a musician and I'm currently writing a book. Berlin is still pretty new to me, so let's explore it together.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2009, I attended Magal de Touba, the annual Mouride pilgrimage to the Grande Mosquée in Touba, Senegal. We never went to bed— we slowly went around meeting every one my friend Médoune’s family members one by one at each of their houses. We ate goat meat on a rooftop in sleeping bags, watching the sun rise into a sticky purple, a massive flock of white birds filling the rainbow sky.

I can teach you English and French if you want to learn or brush up, and can share some helpful Wolof basics and travel tips if you are heading to Senegal or the Gambia at any point! We can swap stories, art or writing over tea and coffee and yummy meals.
