About Me

I´m 28 years old Pole living in my favourite city in the world, Berlin. Currently I´m working very hard to finish my Ph.D. in criminal comparative law and I also try to figure out what I´m gonne do with the rest of my life :)

I love to travel and meet new people although I´m a little shy at first. Supposedly I´m scared of everything but it has seldom stopped me from doing things like moving alone to new city, bungee jumping or travelling to Australia and USA during one trip - I have "challenge accepted syndrom" :D, which isn´t my best quality :-P

When I´m not working I love to party - dancing, singing, talking all night etc.

I also really like to show people around the city wheather it´s Berlin or my hometown Lodz in Poland.

PHILOSOPHY

I used to be very sceptical about everything and a little pessimistc - now I´m testing new approach - I belive everything is possible, you only need to want it hard enough and do everything what´s in you power to achive your goals (within reason of course :) )

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people. Couchsurfing seems to be the only way to travel if you want to experience new places. You won´t find in any travel guids tipps that you can get from people actually living in those places. Besides you want really experience new places without talking to the "townspeople" :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had my first couchsurfing experience last year while driving with my wonderful cousine Agnieszka acrosse the United States from San Francisco via LA, Las Vegas, Route 66, New Orleans to New York (My cousine was the only driver though - I was a pilot and cook, since I don´t have driving licence :D). Along the way we´ve met so many great, warm, giving and above of all interesting people! I wouldn´t do it any other way :D

Interests

I´m a film buff. I can watch everything from chick-flicks, indie movies to thrillers and detective movies.

I love writing - and that´s probably the only reason why I choose to study law - you have to write a lot being a lawyer :-P Writing a PhD also may have something to do with this passion :-P

I also love to travel, meet new people , discover new places

I like to learn new thing so I´m classically overeducated and still can´t do anything practical :-P

Others: sailing, windsurfing, art - especially surrealism, expressionism, street art, theater, cinema, languages, mythology, fashion, pop-culture, politics, comparative law, cooking

Music, Movies, and Books

It´s always hard for me to choose my favourite movies, songs etc. I have very eclectic taste. But I´ll try:

Movies: first film that I remember seeing - Robin Hood the Prince of Thieves, Jarmusch - movies, LOTR, Fight Club, When Harry Met Sally, Only Lovers Left Alive, Whiplash, Gona with the wind, Breakfast at Tiffany´s, Goodfellas, Blues Brothers, You´ve got mail, Wes Anderson movies, In Bruges, Into the Wild, Armaggedon, Las Vegas Parano, Rocky, Dirty Dancing, Guy Ritchie movies, Desperado, Reservoir Dogs, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Himmel ueber Berlin, Coen brothers movies, Thelma and Louise, Dark Knight and many, many others that I can´t think of right now :D

When it comes to music it´s a little bit of everything - my current favourite playlist include: Parov Stelar, Of monsters and man, Asaf Avidan, Ramones, Bleachers, Khroma, Pink Floyd, Mastodon, Soundtrack from the Guardians of the Galaxy, Meshuggah, Decapitated, Fun, Ella Henderson and Blake Shelton :P so it´s a pretty mixed playlist :-P

Books: I use to love fantasy books like Polish - Wiedzmin (The Witcher), LOTR, Game of Thrones etc. Now I´m more into travel literature. My favourite book is at the moment Polish book "Biale" by Ilona Wisniewska about living in Spitzbergen - my most recent goal :P I enjoy also good detectiv novel. Hmm and now I´m reading Johnatan Strang and Mr. Norell :)

I also love good tv-show like True Detectiv, Twin Peaks, Game of Thrones, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Veronica Mars, Skins, Lost, Castle, Dr. Who or Fortitude. I have also guilty pleasures like most recently cancelled Hart of Dixi ;(, True Blood, How I met your mother etc. Unfortunatly these days I don´t have much time to watch those shows so I read about them... I´m kind of addicted to spoilers :-P
