I've been moving around the world since I was little. I've lived and visited all over. I love traveling, meeting new people, going outside my comfort zone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Looking to meet locals instead of just fellow tourists (though meeting both is great too!) I'm from Minneapolis and looking to see more of the U.S. especially the West Coast.

Interests

Reading (just about anything -- favorite authors currently are Coetzee, Woolf, Marquez), writing, art (Francis Bacon, van Gogh, Schiele etc), performance art, music. Food. Experience.

MUSIC: Most Everything. Classical (Bach, Chopin, Elgar, Rachmaninoff), Joni Mitchell, James Blake, Jack White, Jeff Buckley, St Vincent, Frank Ocean.

The Great Beauty, Ex Machina, No Country for Old Men, Spirited Away, Persona, The Skin I Live In, Lars Von Trier, love me some Wes Anderson.

TV:Arrested Development, Veep, Breaking Bad.

BOOKS: Lets just stick to authors -- Coetzee, Woolf, Marquez, Borges, Susan Sontag, just getting into Murakami, Rimbaud, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Delmore Schwartz .... too many to name. I love reading. I can't travel anywhere without a couple books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went night snorkeling in the Qatari Gulf. I put a flashlight in a plastic bag and went for a swim to see the sea at night. Luminous and beautiful (though slightly terrifying)!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Wide range of cultural experience (I grew up everywhere), my Arabic heritage (I'm pretty Americanized but I make a mean batch of hummus), and I love doing dishes so if you're sink runneth over, I'm your man.
