I grew up in the United States, but have lived in several places, including currently Rome, Italy. My favorite part of living or traveling to somewhere is meeting new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I studied abroad during my undergraduate studies and was bit by the travel bug! More than anything, I love meeting new people and sharing and learning with them, and Couchsurfing seems like a great way to do that! I'm excited to someday host people from different places as well.

Interests

My biggest hobby is swing dancing, and I frequently travel to different cities and states to do so. I also love reading and writing, drinking coffee and tea, and writing letters to faraway friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a lot of music, but especially folk and indie artists such as Sufjan Stevens, The Avett Brothers, The Head and the Heart, The Naked and Famous, The Tow'rs, etc.

I'm a sucker for classic films, particularly from the 40s and 50s. Who can beat Carey Grant and Katherine Hepburn for a classic duo?

I was a literature major in college, so picking favorite books is difficult since I love just about everything. British literature holds a special place in my heart though, especially Hardy and Eliot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm pretty proud of the time I hiked to the peaks of two mountains, each over 14,000 feet elevation, in Colorado, USA. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done physically and mentally and it's still one of my favorite memories.

I've also traveled solo around parts of Europe, which was amazing to me!

I love to learn, to share and to teach in kind. More than just being a guest, I'd like to be a part of someone's family for a few days if they'll let me.

I can teach you to dance, have deep conversations, or just share my cheerful and open personality. If you'll let me, I will help you cook and do the dishes too.
