About Me

I'm a mountain girl to the core. I grew up in the kootenays, amidst valleys, mountains and lakes. I've dabbled in University, did a year of fine woodworking, and now am enjoying being young and relatively care free. In the summers I work as a treeplanting cook (so I love to cook for people) and the rest of the year I get to do what I want.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe in sharing. I've couchsurfed and had the most memorable moments from that, and love creating memorable moments for others. Oh and did I mention I love to cook for people.

Interests

I love love public radio, and have been part of a co-op radio station for over 7 years, I love recording and sharing other peoples stories, through the radio waves. I've been sewing and working with textlies since I was 5 and love makng as much as I can from scratch. I love everything creative, and I love trying and learning as many new things as possible. I'm passionate about the world around me and how I can best be part of it. And did I mention I love to cook.

Music, Movies, and Books

Geese favorite music, how I loath this question... Whatever I think is good.
Favorite Movies, whatever isn't shitty and predictable.
Books; I've really been diggin sci fi lately, but I also enjoy, historical fictions, history, graphic novels and much in between.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I organized and built a community garden at my university, that will leave a lasting legacy at the school and hopefully inspire people to garden and be better connected with the earth. I worked for 2 years on the garden and made amazing connections a learnt far more than I ever did in a university class.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach; I've love to teach other people to sew, from basic mending to creating whole things. I've taught several workshops and a summer youth art intensives on upcycling sewing.
Learn; oh, everything, languages, recipes, cooking techniques, handy skills, woodworking and carpentry, gardening techniques, playing musical instruments and the list goes on
Share; meals with friends, time well spent, adventures, my home and of course my couch.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to listen to others stories, and I enjoy interesting adventures and sharing knowledge. Oh and did I mention I love to cook.
