I am a vegetarian, book nerd, and have a passion for farming and environmental studies.

I prefer natural landscapes over cities, but sometimes urban spaces have their own charm too. I recently finished my Masters at Aber Uni in Wales and I am looking to do some traveling. Originally from the southwestern USA, I am looking to couch surf to be able to talk to and engage with people in the various places I would like to visit!
There's nothing quite like getting a glimpse into what it is to actually live in a place verses staying in a generic hotel.

Too many to choose from! Here are some recent listens/reads.

Music: Emmylou Harris, Robert Plant, Mateo Kingman, Kendrick Lamar, Daniel Bachman, The High Kings, Viajante, Natalia Lafourcade.

Books: The Nightingale, Climate Change and the Course of Global History (a geeky pick but I loved the depth and scope of history it covers human and otherwise), the Mistborn Trilogy (currently on the second one).

My go-to movies and shows are undoubtedly sci-fi...Firefly, Startrek, Interstellar, etc. And I have watched many, many BBC shows over the past few years. I just caught up with Qi, and have repeatedly watched the big showstoppers Dr. Who and Sherlock.

Found a lizard (microteiid) on an island that had no documentation of it being there!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Language, food, culture exchange.
A variety of gardening/farming practices both hands on and the more straight-up scientific side. I also love sharing stories and music :).

I am horrible at telling jokes, even though an evening with friends laughing and telling jokes is an evening well spent in my mind. My talents are a bit better spent helping out in a garden space or in the kitchen!
