Hello! My name is Hannah, and I'm a 24 year-old writer and traveler from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in the United States. I graduated from university in December 2016, where I got a degree in radio, TV, and film. I did a solo backpacking trip through Europe from March-August 2017 and another from June-August 2018.
I work as the Assistant Manager at a cabaret theater and bar in the Cultural District of Downtown Pittsburgh.

I have used Couchsurfing before when traveling in the Netherlands and various cities throughout the US, but I have never used my own account to do so, since I was traveling with a friend and we used his account. But I am familiar with the process nonetheless, as I did much of the correspondence from his account.

One of my favorite things about traveling is meeting and connecting with new people. I love having experiences with my new friends that will stay in my memories forever, even if the time we physically spent together was short. I think that couchsurfing is a great way to meet people who are genuine and appreciate the traveling spirit, and who practice kindness and acceptance towards fellow travelers. I love the idea that hosts can show guests their cities, because I know that I'm very proud of my hometown, and showing it to others is always an honor! I also like the reciprocity of couchsurfing; it's a very mutual exchange of culture and worldview.

I really like punk music and music from the 1960s and 70s. Some of my favorite bands/artists are the Beatles, the Ramones, the Strokes, Car Seat Headrest, Diane Coffee, PUP, Amy Winehouse, Courtney Barnett, Frank Turner, Ben Folds, and Regina Spektor. I like being involved in my local music scene and going to lots of shows (I'd love to go to a show with you in your city to see some local music!).

Every time I watch a movie, it becomes my new favorite. Some of the ones that have stuck with me are The Diary of a Teenage Girl, Amelie, Forrest Gump, Almost Famous, and Miss Stevens. I have a hard time not liking any movie that I watch. :)

My favorite books are The Catcher in the Rye, Love is a Mix Tape, A Visit From the Goon Squad, the Five People You Meet in Heaven, Slaughterhouse-Five, and lots more. I'm also a HUUUUGE fan of Harry Potter!!
