I was born in the UK but spent some time studying in Northern Italy, right near the Slovenian border, where I fell in love with a slower pace of life and friendly locals. Now I'm back in the UK and studying genetics and anthropology in Oxford - I can have very long chats with you about: why we really shouldn't use biology or evolution when making ethical decisions, kidney disease in Egypt, or why nature vs nurture isn't a real debate - you pick.

I also love sketching the places I travel to! It's the best way to pass time in a place doing very little, but allowing yourself to notice the details. I also find it gives locals an excuse to come and chat to you, and always ends up being very social. I've been brought countless objects by 6 year-olds to sketch, asked to draw a stranger's friend's new house, and almost invited onto someone's boat.

I speak reasonable French and Italian and love any chance to practice these.

I'm very easy going and am usually up for anything! Particularly wild swimming in any lake or river around.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to travel but find I feel detached from the real cities/places when staying in hotels. I like to meet people and share a bit of their lives with them while in a new place. I also like that the type of person on Couchsurfing is very open and a little bit outside the ordinary
