Overview
About Me
Im originally from Boulder Colorado, where I grew up hiking nearly everyday and skiing in the winters. I just finished up University in Washington state studying psychology and neuroscience.
I’ve been solo traveling since just after graduating, taking time to see the world and learn as much about myself as the countries i have visited. I constantly feel incredibly lucky and amazed by the beauty and contrast of countries I’ve visited. I stared this trip in Israel, spent around 3 months traveling around Africa and have spent the last 6 weeks in India where my religious, political and worldly views have been dramatically challenged and expanded. I love getting in deep with a culture and learning as much about a place as possible.
Fresh mountain air makes me happier than pretty much anything and right now the Himalayas have my heart
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
“To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, draw closer, to find each other, and to feel.” I love this quote and I believe that it is the exact purpose of travel and exploration. To see more than you will get from reading or hearing about a place & couch surfing seems like the best way to “see behind walls” and break down barriers- I love getting the local experience and meeting new people!

Music, Movies, and Books
I was raised listening to the Grateful Dead and lots of bluegrass music. So genetically I’m a dead head and i love 70s rock, anything acoustic and alt indie music I’m pretty into as well. I’m a sucker for David Bowie, Bob Dylan, and The Rolling Stones.
I love to read while I travel especially about places I am traveling to. I read shantaram recently which greatly inspired me to travel to India. Otherwise I love non-fiction and books about travel. Kristin Hannah, Chris Cleave and Pico Iyer are some of my favorite authors
