About Me
CANNOT ACCEPT GUESTS CURRENTLY! My wife is dealing with severe illness and we won’t be able to host until she is more stable.
I'm a graphic designer, born and raised in Los Angeles. I love playing and writing music, trying new foods, and ocean life (the weirdos, not the cute ones!). When traveling I'm happy to wander around by myself or to be shown your favorite spots. I'm more interested in daily life than sightseeing.
I know Japanese but don't have many opportunities to speak it, so I'm thrilled when I get to have conversations in Japanese. I also love talking in English to people who are learning it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Last year I spent a few weeks in Japan and even though I traveled alone I was able to have a wonderful trip with new friends I met through Couchsurfing.
I used to have a big community of international friends that has gradually dwindled as people returned to their home country, and I miss those kinds of friendships! I would love to show my city to people new to the area.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love Showa era music (GS & kayokyoku) so I often get along with people who were growing up then. Tsutsumi Kyohei is my favorite songwriter. I also love Shiina Ringo and Serge Gainsbourg.
My favorite books are well-organized resources of information that you can't find anywhere else. There used to be a Japanese publishing imprint called Hotwax that made detailed reference books of obscure oldies music and B movies that I absolutely adore.
Teach, Learn, Share
In my city I'd love to show you delicious, affordable food and beautiful night views.
