Overview
About Me
Hello! I am a twenty-something currently based in Asheville doing bookkeeping and administrative work for a Permaculture, Homesteading, and Wildcrafting school called Wild Abundance (you can check it out at WildAbundance.net if you are curious). I love everything nature and permaculture! I particularly enjoy exploring ways the social justice and sustainability intersect.
I also spend a majority of my time riding horses, playing music, and working out. I love to eat well, meditate, and feel good. I'm an all round pretty holistic human these days.
I play in a country dream punk band called Hot Milk and we have jokingly said that we are influenced by the Modern Lovers, Parquet Courts, Phish, and Sheryl Crow. We don't have any recordings online yet, but if you let me surf on your couch I'll play you some voice memos.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couchsurfing for a couple reasons! It's a really cost efficient way to travel, but it's also a great way to meet people in a much more down to earth way. I find that when I am at Airbnbs, the experience is much more cultivated and artificial and it feels weird.
I also have been couch surfing before getting on this site and I feel the reciprocal relationship of hosting people and being hosted is pretty awesome. You get to experience some pretty wonderful open hearted friendliness and get to know real people.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love campy comedies! Wet Hot American Summer and Party Down are a couple of my favorites. I also love The Office, Parks and Rec, Russian Doll, Stranger Things, and Game of Thrones. (I am a solid Netflix and HBO customer)
Books... Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins is my favorite. I also love other Tom Robbins books. I have also really enjoyed the works of Herman Hesse, Milan Kundera, and John Steinbeck.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was just a teen, on horseback I galloped across a beach in Aruba to race with a storm. Essentially, the storm cloud was just keeping pace with us, and we found we could kind of race with it if we could keep our horses at a gallop. It felt pretty epic!
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to talk horse, but I am also pretty interested in social justice, permaculture, wild foods/wildcrafting, self care/wellness, and music! That's where my deepest interests are right now.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am a really fun and friendly guest! I can also be very quiet and I feel I am good at understanding and hearing boundaries. I love to cook a meal for my host at least one night while I am staying there as a thank you. I have done this almost everywhere I have stayed :)
