I was born and raised in California, but since the age of 18 I've lived in all sorts of places and worked all types of jobs. I've spent the past few years of my life traveling the world with my husband Axel Boidard, whom you can also find on Couchsurfer. 

My experiences have ultimately led me to be a very open minded and progressive person, and I'm always trying to learn more about people who come from different walks of life. I'm currently a graduate student in International Relations, but I also heavily dabble in Journalism and digital art.  Right now I'm studying at Kyoto University, so my schedule kind of revolves around that!

Also, all freeloaders are WELCOME to Couchsurf with me. I dislike making this app "transactional" the only thing we owe each other is kindness and respect. I want my home to be a place where guests can enjoy their stay on their own terms.

De plus, tous les freeloaders sont les BIENVENUS chez moi. J'en ai marre avec les mentalités capitalistes où les invités doivent rendre un service pour leurs hôtes. La seule chose que nous nous devons, c'est la gentillesse et le respect. Je veux que ma maison soit un endroit où les invités peuvent profiter de leur vacances à leur guise.

Traveling has been a really important part of my development, and I essentially see Couchsurfer as one of the ultimate traveling tools out there! I want to help other people as they explore the world, and the community on the platform also helps be to get those opportunities for myself as well!

My favourite movie of all time is Jesus Christ Superstar (1973 film adaptation specifically), but outside of that I always enjoy cheesy/dramatic films and musicals.

I love jazz, hip-hop, reggae, pre-1960s rock-n-roll and all other Pan-African adjacent forms of music.

These days I almost exclusively read for school or language learning books for French and Spanish, but I'm also a sucker for sci-fi, fantasy novels, and comicbooks. I also check France 24, Vox, Jacobin Magazine, Le Monde Diplomatique, and Al Jazeera regularly.

I met my husband Axel while working in a Language Cafe in Tokyo in 2019. We hit it off pretty quickly, and I travelled with him throughout Japan for the rest of my time there. When it was time for me to go back to the U.S. we were separated for about 3 days before we both caved in and confessed that we wanted to stay together, and Axel proceeded to buy his tickets for San Francisco immediately. Since then he's stuck with me through the COVID-19 Pandemic, and against struggles with U.S. immigration policies and the time constraints of my military job. Nearly 3 years later I can still say that we're happily married and that meeting him pretty much takes the cake when it comes to my greatest travelling experiences.
