About Me

Hey, I have recently graduated from my Masters here in Utrecht, it's a beautiful city with lots to do - I spend a lot of time enjoying the pubs and cafes now I have hardly any responsibilities, and theres always some events going on during the weekends and such. Before I studying, I spent two years in Australia working and travelling, have made many friends all around the world and try and visit them when I can find the time :)

Now I am just working in a restaurant in Utrecht and searching for graduate jobs. I studied sustainable development and governance, so I am very passionate about environmental and political issues.

With my friends we enjoy cooking together, throwing parties, drinking, having fun, listening to music. I also go bouldering, sometimes yoga, also volunteering on a farm. Also need a bit of alone time where I spend a lot of time reading or going to the park in the warm weather :) playing ps4 or listening to records. Pretty much sums it up.

I love adventures, I laugh a lot, I seem to make people laugh almost all the time (not always intentionally), and someone once told me they can never be in a bad mood when I'm around haha so that is a positive. Just ask if there is anything else you want to know.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I was travelling a lot, naturally I hated staying in hostels and going through the boring motions and conversations like "hi where you from, how long you been in Australia, how long you been in Melbourne"... I'd rather skip all that and just pretend we already know each other (which I guess you kinda do now that you're reading my profile)

I also planned a couple of roadtrips through couchsurfing in the past, both in Aus and New Zealand, and I find most people have the same mindset and ideals so its nice to spend some time around likeminded people. Thats basically why I choose to host now..

I would like to host anyone who already has a good idea of what they want to do in the city, don't anticipate that I will be hanging out with you the whole time (not just when I am working but I also need a lil bit of alone time while you are out n about). Please be ready to take your own initiative, I can help with ideas of things to do, you're welcome to join me and my friends if we are going somewhere, and likewise if I feel like joining you then I will ask to come along :) I hate having to be the decision maker haha.
........
I also want to be clear that I only answer requests to those who have a lot of information on their profiles, and I won't respond to anyone who has no references sorry (hence why my response rate is so low)

Interests

I love to be outdoors, skiing, swimming etc also like to keep active in general also go to the boulderhal a lot or yoga :) . Obviously like to travel, although I try to keep that on a minimum and take more trains etc., always excited to try something new though. I am into environmental stuff i am pretty passionate about it too particularly interested in sustainable agriculture cos I grew up mostly on my grandparents farms or out hiking in the mountains in Scotland with my dad. So I love being outside taking walks or a nice bike ride somewhere n a few beers in the back of course.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm into a lot of music old and new, I'm pretty open minded I've gone through mad obsessive phases of anything from Metallica to Tame Impala to techno and trance, every few months I get stuck into Bob Dylan for a few days until I'm sick of his voice again haha. I go to the lil indie cinemas A LOT, and i read A LOT of novels too n spend too much time in second hand book stores

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watched full moon rise across the dessert near Uluru :) OR watched a massive storm coming in over the Grand Canyon so so so soooo amazing

Teach, Learn, Share

Someone once Told me I am - 'Effusively youthful' probably because I always want to learn something new, always interested in what you have to say, like a child I guess haha

What I Can Share with Hosts

You will have someone you can hang out with, easy-going, a life long offer to visit me wherever I end up :) I'll eat, drink, talk rubbish with you, and always want to have fun... try anything once at least. And I'm sure I can definitely make you laugh
