About Me
Currently bopping around exploring and looking for something new. The future is uncertain! :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love hearing stories from fellow travelers. Where they're from, where they're going, and the like. Also give them an idea of what they can do in the area or the best way to go about it. If I'm traveling, it has been very helpful to get insight from locals as I prefer a more authentic visit than the tourist route. We're all on a journey and I think there's something to learn from everyone's story. I love the Couchsurfing community as it's members usually think and feel the same, craving authentic and meaningful connection on this level.
Interests
I enjoy most things :)
I greatly appreciate sharing knowledge and experiences with others and being open to new ideas and ways of seeing and doing.
I do my best to be conscious of my impact on the environment as I consider it a top priority in making sure we are caring for our planet and all of it's inhabitants.
I also feel strongly about socio-economic issues affecting others and try to stay aware of my privilege in various situations.
I acknowledge coincidence and signs form the universe and find such connections and meaning to be very insightful.
I love fresh air and to be outside in the fields and trees, but I'm also discovering my love of urban city environments as well.
I find great joy in social dancing, mainly contra, east coast swing, and salsa. I also love singing and the energy music brings in general.
I think that volunteering and community service is one of the greatest ways a person can spend their time and I find it to be a very admirable trait in a person.
I have recently discovered Taoism as a philosophy and strive to live life through "wu wei" or effortless action.
Traveling allows me to meet new people, experience new ways of thinking, consider new ideas, and broaden my scope on everything really. I find this to be very valuable in discovering what's important to me and what I value most.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1. Watching the northern lights shine over a freezing lake with some amazing friends in the great country of Finland.
2. Spending the night at the summit of Mt. Nyiragongo, an active volcano in the DRC, to celebrate the completion of my Peace Corps service in Uganda.
3. Being the first to arrive (with my wonderful guide) at Machu Picchu's Sungate on the final day of an incredible trek along the Inca Trail in Peru.
