Overview
About Me
I'm a 24 year old girl who is exploring the world, one country at a time. I've just finished my two year working visa in the UK and I'm not ready to go back to NZ, so am continuing my nomadic lifestyle and travelling the world! I come from a small town in NZ, called Twizel. Often people ask me why I left when the natural scenery there is amazing & picturesque (trust me it's good, google it), but I needed a break from the chilled out Kiwi lifestyle. My family still live there, with our dog, Billy. I can also speak a bit of German, as I learnt it in school & did an exchange there, but unfortunately it's a bit rusty now.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I will be travelling hopefully for around five - six months solo around Europe, Middle East & North Africa. Missing all my friends and family, so I thought why not go on couch surfing & make new friends along my travels. It's a great way to interact with the locals & truly experience a new country (well that's what I believe). As locals always know the best kept secrets, that are off the tourist track. I feel that meeting actual people & interacting directly with a new culture, hopefully means I can appreciate it more, rather than me just being in a hostel with other tourists & doing the usual 'westernized' travel experience.
Interests
Food - I love trying & experiencing new foods. No matter what it is I'll give it a go at least, even tried Haggis. I love eating out whether it be a street food van, takeaway or a restaurant.
Sport - I love all kinds of sport whether it be football, cricket or even golf! I love going to watch sport, as I love being part of the atmosphere! I would love to go & watch different countries national sports. Or I'm happy at home with a beer watching a game on TV. I'm also very much into doing a lot of adrenaline based activities, like bungy jumping & white water rafting!
Fitness - I'm into keeping myself healthy by working out, especially running. It's probably the only way I'll be able to keep my fitness up while I'm travelling. Would be keen for some great running routes, while in new cities.
Shopping - I love shopping! Just like any girl, so any advice on where the best shops & bargains are, would be greatly appreciated.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing experiences I have done would have to be when I was in Laos. Travelling from the Thai Border to Luang Laotian in a small long boat, crammed fill with 100 people cruising down the Mekong River. Although it was overcrowded, noisy at the back of the boat (due to the Prabang), no leg room and no air conditioning, this was by far one of the most amazing 10 hours (each day) boat trip I've done. Also spending the night in a small village virtually untouched by the Western World, taking in all the natural scenery, culture & cuisine of the Laotion people was unforgettable.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share travel stories from good experiences through to bad ones. I'm like an unwritten book & I love sharing my experiences with other's and passing on my travel knowledge to others. Also I can cook an amazing cooked breakfast! I've never had a complaint about my poached eggs :)
