About Me

I am a landscape architect out to see as much of the world as I can. Whether traveling the california coast on my bike or road tripping across the country, I love meeting new people and exchanging ideas. German heritage runs deep in my family and therefore I am always up for a beer and a dive bar. I may not be a food channel star, but I enjoy playing iron chef and experimenting with new cuisines. I'm always happy when I get to share a meal with my hosts and learn a new family recipe. Life is too short to be stuck in a cube for forty years... I live to enjoy every day and have some cool stories to tell.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling in hostels has given me the opportunity to meet fascinating people from all walks of life. One of my most interesting friends told me about couch surfing and his amazing stories with people all over the country. I look forward to getting out there and seeing what crazy experiences this community has to offer.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy most music in general. My favorite genres would be alternative, blues, classical, Folk, Indie, and Jazz. I love live music the best though. (Probably because I love to dance.)

I don't keep up with movies at all. However, I enjoy a nice popcorn milkshake netflix night.

I honestly don't read very often. I usually only read when I'm traveling and have the extra time to read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't think anything I've done is really all that amazing, but there is always one thing that usually surprises people. My trip to California. I decided after I graduated college that I didn't want to jump right into working and wanted to thrive in my last full "free" summer. While finishing my senior projects, I mapped out several different bicycle touring trips and highway 1 from California to Washington seemed to always be the best option with the perfect weather. Starting out in San Diego my friend and I rode up to Santa Monica with little trouble. Unfortunately, the guy I went with got his bicycle stolen in Santa Monica and we couldn't finish the trip.

I met some wonderful people along the way and saw some of the most beautiful sights. This will be my forever wanting to finish trip.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Cooking? I'm no chef but I do enjoy finding strange ingredients and figuring out what to make with them.

Learn: I love circular conversations that blossom knowledge for all participants.

Share: Cause sharing is caring, I love to go out on wild nights or day trip adventures.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm not entirely sure what I can offer to a host other than good conversation and food, if I'm allowed to cook. I'm a Sagittarius, so I'm sure it'll be a brightly filled night of humour and stories. I might be able to offer some thoughts on one's garden from my landscape background. But please do forgive if I do not know all the plants and their needs in your garden.
