About Me
I am a 25-year-old healthcare worker based in Detroit, MI. I am proud to call Detroit my home, as it's an amazing and wacky city, but I also love to travel and explore new places! I currently do work in HIV in Detroit, and this year I'll be embarking on a yearlong fellowship working in a pediatric AIDS clinic in Swaziland, Southern Africa. I enjoy music, dancing, hiking, running, learning new languages and cultures, and engaging in community events and projects. I have wanted to spend a year abroad immersed in a new culture for a long time so I'm thrilled to start my life in Southern Africa this summer!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I believe that community is a fluid concept and can be found anywhere. The Couchsurfing community is one made up of compassionate, open-minded individuals who share my passion for exploration and community support. I believe that no one should have financial barriers to travel, and I love that Couchsurfing gives everyone that opportunity equally.
