Overview
About Me
Film and TV fan who is looking forward to exploring the US. I want to learn more of the culture of the 'land of the free' and see if Hollywood really portrays the country accurately.
I also love contemporary history and sports (soccer and ice hockey) and a nice glass of red wine.
Spent many a night drinking and partying at uni and have gotten that out of my system but still don't mind a night out having fun.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Planning a trip to America this summer and since I am travelling alone I want to meet new people and also have more of a budget to do fun things.
I have lived most of my life within my comfort zone and now turning 23 I realise I haven't really experienced life so what other way than to make myself vulnerable and get out of my comfort zone whilst meeting new people.
Interests
I want to work in the film industry as a director and cinematographer. I watch more television series than I take credit for and write less than I should be.
My trip to America will act as a basis to create a visual story of finding oneself, cheesy but that's what Hollywood is right?
I'm interested in learning new things and will always seek new knowledge of cultures, places, people, and things.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite band is a British band called Take That. I may have gone to the same concert 4 times in 2 weeks just because they're THAT good.
Films and television series are the biggest part of my life and the list is too long to write here.
But my favourite film of ALL TIME is A Single Man by Tom Ford. The cinematography in this film blows my mind every time and it never fails to make me cry. Colin Firth is a genius when it comes to acting.
I've watched more hours of television than any other things my life but I could probably narrow down my list of favourite shows to: LOST, The X Files, The Good Wife, Mad Men, The Fall, and Band of Brothers.
I don't do a lot of reading, although my favourite book is a Swedish one called Ondskan (The Evil) which is incredible.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
For my 18th birthday I decided to travel on my own for the first time to reconnect with my paternal grandparents who I hadn't seen for 13 years. I travelled alone to the UK and found a part of me that I never knew I had lost.
Just getting to know someone that has always been a name on a card and money in an envelope was such an eye opener. We are surrounded by all these people but take them for granted that they'll always be there.
A year after I had travelled to meet my grandparents my grandfather passed away. I was so grateful that I had taken that step to meet with them when I was 18 or I would have regretted it for the rest of my life.
At the same time as this was something for myself I think that my grandmother is the one who got the most out of my travels. She gained a granddaughter that she knows and is no longer someone she sends birthday and christmas cards to.
With that one trip I brought my family back together.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to make people laugh and discuss things that are important to them. Whether they are interested in a certain thing or are upset about something they read in the news I am willing and eager to hear about their thoughts and through that gain more knowledge of the world.
I want to share my experiences of life growing up in Sweden but in an English speaking home and how that has had an effect on my life. But also just sharing stories of things I have done on travels through Turkey, Greece, Germany, and the UK. Sharing stories such as when I was 5 and disobeyed my grandmother and went out and played in the snow only to come back home without my two front teeth after having slipped on the ice.
Teaching happens when you talk and that's what is the most important thing in life, talking about feelings and experiences and things that interest you. That's all I ever really want in life.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share a long list of amazing television shows and places to travel in the UK and mainland Europe.
I am willing to teach you the secrets behind really tasty Swedish meatballs and how to properly assemble IKEA furniture. If you've ever been interested in learning a language then I can attempt to teach you the ways around the Swedish language, it will be helpful walking around IKEA trying to read the names of the furniture.
