Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed for my first time in India with a friend and had a fantastic time. Our best nights were spent with the families and people we stayed with talking about culture and life. Unique way to learn more about the world, yourself and others.

Interests

I have spent the last two years working as a U.S. Peace Corps youth development advisor/ volunteer in Cambodia.I had a fantastic time, lived with a Cambodian family and made some long lasting friendships. I have enjoyed traveling throughout Asia, talking with new and interesting people. I will be spending the next year examining anti-corruption policies in Helsinki, Finland under a Fulbright research grant. Looking forward to meeting new friends and getting becoming more knowledgeable about Finnish culture/norms.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Attending a teaching led by the Dalai Lama this past year in Mclead Ganj(Northern India) was most memorable.

Perhaps being bitten by a white horse while waiting for the sunrise on Angkor Wat?

Two years of conversations in Khmer while living in Cambodia, unforgettable and very missed.
