About Me

I am a learner by choice. I guess you could say I postponed life in the working world for another season of school. It has been such a good choice to continue with school since it has given me a new place to live, new friends, bigger dreams, a network that spans nations, and an incredible amount of insight into the way the world works. I'm a biomedical engineer by a choice bigger than my own--and my passion for my career has only grown the more I learn about people. What can I say? I'm blessed, broke, and ready to bring a little of myself into this world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My favorite "couch surfing" experience was when I went to Japan and lived with a host family in a traditional Japanese home. Otosan (Grandpa) and Okasan (Grandma) spoke about 10 words of English so I had a ton of fun communicating with them across the language barrier. They took such great care of me and I learned so much about the cultural traditions, food, and lifestyle of the Japanese. Plus Grandma and Grandpa loved singing karaoke every night after dinner--that really made it an experience worth remembering.

Music, Movies, and Books

Ever since I've started college, I've stopped watching TV all together....except for the time between semesters. It's those few weeks that I binge watch my fair share of TV and catch up with the rest of humanity.

I am a movie lover. I'd prefer to watch a movie over a TV show any day. My favorites include Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and even though I'm almost 25, I still enjoy a good Disney movie as much as the next 6 year old does.

Books! I love reading. I enjoy books about outdoor adventure, biblical theology, leadership, and world religions.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been fortunate enough to do a little traveling in my life, but I think one of the most amazing things I've done up to this point was to get into grad school--a small victory but a huge impact on my life.
