Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm most likely not able to offer my couch to travelers at the moment, but I am more than willing to give advice on what to do in Greensboro and, if time permits, do some socializing!

Interests

I am currently studying Russian language, and even though I find this extraordinarily difficult, it is worth the time and effort. I also love reading, writing in my journal (a new found interest!), and baking.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love classical Russian literature. This is actually how I became interested in Russia in the first place, and when I have time I would like to read more modern literature. I also have a fondness for Soviet-era films.

As for music, I like Indie/folk rock. Just something to chill out with.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My first experience traveling outside of the United States (and alone, for that matter) was when I went to Kiev, Ukraine. It was quite an eyeopener, and I must say I had quite the culture shock. But in spite of all of this, I found it an exciting city, with so many sites, especially the gorgeous cathedrals.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to bake some traditional "Southern-style" cakes, but also know a couple of Russian recipes.

I can teach you some basics of Russian, although I myself am still working on learning this amazing language.

I want to learn about cooking (I'm good at baking, but not cooking), about wine and beer, and maybe even gardening.

I would love to share life stories. It's a way to really connect with someone, understand how they arrived at their current mindset. And then to watch and see in what way they will continue to grow.
