About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To enjoy the company of others in foreign places.

ABOUT ME

I am an independent, curious, and passionate person. I love traveling to new places but nothing makes me happier than cooking a delicious meal with wonderful friends and staring at a beautiful scenery. My next big purchase will be a motorcycle so I can tour the backroads of the US. I hope to one day build my own house. I love being in water and climbing mountains. I want to become a teacher of some sorts. I love to garden. I am interested in issues contributing to food insecurity and natural resource management. I really want a dog. Im excited for my future.

PHILOSOPHY

I am a positive person and prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt. I am very interested in changing the way Americans view health, both their own and the health of the environment. I also appreciated being challenged by new people with different perspectives and ideas about life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted one person in the past and that was a great experience. And I have only couch surfed a few times on my own. But I hope to CS all over Thailand in the next few months. I currently can't host surfers but will be able to come March!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had wonderful experiences meeting people that I probably would never have met before. I really appreciate and believe in the mission of CS.

Interests

Being outdoors, cooking delicious food, reading books, relaxing with friends, and slowly traveling around the world. My father is a great chef/baker and he instilled in me a love for food. This passion has contributed to my interest of working for an organization that helps people have access to healthy, nutritious, affordable, good food.

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently I am reading a book about Thai cuisine that has made me crave rice, noodles, curries, and other ethnic treats.
Normally I enjoy books about the environment, biographies, non-fiction, and the occasional cheap romance novel.
I love love love music, especially bluegrass and jazz.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently became open water diving certified and exposed to a whole new underwater world. I thought I would never learn how to dive because I am not a good swimmer but on a whim, I signed up for a certification course and absolutely love it. I am constantly amazed by the life in the ocean and the eery quietness of the watery environment.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn more trades and skills...haha I know that is very vague but I enjoy learning things that I normally would never learn in my day to day life. I love being able to do things on my own and have a sense of independence in my life. So if you know a random skill. please share!

I work as a bike tech at my school so I can teach surfers some basic bike maintenance if they want. I also love to cook and love cooking with people. I love to rock climb and enjoy taking people into the mountains to climb.
