ABOUT ME

I love London!! But the world is big and I love to potter out of my homestead to places far and wide. I'm a VERY happy member of a community in East London based around a Burning Man regional festival and there is so much joy and creativity for me and everyone here. See: www.goingnowhere.org for our event in Spain. Love making big art and little art, the organised, planned and well-executed kind and the messy-mayhem, spur-of-the-moment kind. Love travelling with my beautiful husband and can't wait to begin our big adventures in a year when we say goodbye to our London life for a few years and off into the horizon. By day I'm a rapidprototyping technician at the Royal College of Art, London (also called 3D-printing, or digital manufacturing). I live in a warehouse with 12 people next door to many other warehouses stuffed full of my creative chums. There is always a tonne of tomfoolery and joy to be found. But I love my quiet time too and can often be found hiding out in my room, pottering around, artin' n craftin'. On the weekend I love to make costumes and head out in mad finery to many of the events and festivals that we put on in my community.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Community, community, community!!!! Especially a creative community! I have been heavily involved for 8 years in an international community mainly based in London and in Spain for one week of the year where we whip up an incredible storm of creativity and radical self-expression for a week. All wrapped up in open hearts, smiling faces and nurturing care. It's been fun!!! I have loved running art grants, doing art grant projects myself: big sculptures and interactive projects, running a giant fancy dress wardrobe, helping run camps to feed and house the masses, building structures, digging toilets and setting up groups to nurture the mental and spiritual well-being of members of the community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have used couch surfing a good few times when traveling in the USA a few years ago. Wonderful experience! Housed many couch-surfers here in our warehouse when the sofas are free, there has been a constant flow of surfers through our large warehouse we lived in, but mainly through our festival community, not couchsurfing.org itself.
