ABOUT ME

I am originally from the UK, but I spent the last five years living in Germany. Before that I lived in Turkey and that is where I met Moritz. Moritz is German and studied in Marburg before we moved to Cologne. I work as a language teacher for adults - teaching English and German. Moritz teaches German and philosophy in secondary school. We moved to San Jose, Costa Rica at the start of 2019.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think that the philosophy behind couch surfing is just logical...you can meet local people whilst travelling and they can show you around or give you some tips. It makes travelling more personal, and less expensive. It is an awesome idea.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started couch surfing eight years ago, when I stayed with a Turkish guy in Germany. I had a very positive experience. Since then I had a number of people staying at my house in Manchester and a few people stayed in my flat in Turkey. I have couch surfed myself in Germany, Austria, France and with Moritz in Bursa, Istanbul and Antalya in Turkey and in South America. We have had a lot of really great experiences with couch surfing.

Centres d'intérêt

We both play ultimate frisbee and we used to play a tournament every weekend! Plus, we like travelling, camping and hiking. I love learning languages. Moritz juggles and plays the guitar (not at the same time ;)).

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I went on a road-trip around the USA that was pretty cool. I also enjoyed travelling around Turkey because there is a lot of contrast there. You go from Istanbul to Ankara to Cappodocia and further and you can see a lot of different things. Recently Moritz and I spent four months backpacking around South America. We went from Bolivia to Costa Rica via the Peruvian Amazon. It was our longest trip yet and it gave us the backpacking bug! We definitely want to do something like it again (with even more time so we can reach Chile and Argentina).
