Current Mission...
To live with the earth, learn more of people, of environments, of food and of realities outside of my own.

I'd describe myself as an activist, creative, grounded and attentive. I'm an extrovert, and I love being around people, but I'd say I'm a calm energy, sometimes even shy!

I love cooking for people, hiking, building, domestic travel (I have some carbon debt from my jet-setting twenties). I am incredibly privileged as a white woman on stolen land, and to travel as freely across the world and across this Country as I do.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I spent a little bit of time overseas ten years ago with my ex Ben.... Along the journey I couch-surfed, hitch-hiked and worked. Our goal was to connect, learn and in turn teach as much as possible.
To date I have had the opportunity to stay with some of the kindest and most generous souls on the earth.

Upon returning home I was really driven to reciprocate, and hosted so many beautiful humans who brought richness and love and adventure into my humble home.
I haven't hosted nor surfed since covid!

Intereses

I am really interested in writing (or rather reading the writing of others) Anything that can make me laugh and then draw me to tears has my approval, I love philosophy (for beginners :P), science, architecture etc etc.
I also love action, and movement - anything that requires me to be up before the sun rises and challenging myself throughout the day. I like to rock climb, canyon, bike ride, outrig, hike, kayak, dance,

I found that I couldn't sit still behind a computer as an architect (I mean, I could, but it didn't make me happy), so I moved into construction, carpentry and eventually found my way to furniture making.

Sustainability is so important to me, the way I move through the world. It's not perfect, but I have a constant intention to deepen into an ethic of care.

Books...Ursular Le Guin, Margaret Atwood and others of a similar philosophical, thriller, sci-fi ilk!
I like reading on theology, Buddhism, sociology, auto-biographies etc.

Started my own workshop business? Finished a masters after 13 years of study? Grew up on a farm and made it out of a small town without too many battle wounds?

But amazing things occur around me every minute - this earth is a beautiful place, and 100% of the time this beauty and amazingness has absolutely nothing to do with my presence upon it!

I was privileged enough to travel continuously over 26 months to 23 different countries, and to learn and despair in all that is involved in a life like that.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I can share my experience of growing up on a dairy farm, handling animals, growing plants, driving machinery, reading the weather. I could also share my passion for art and architecture, and my appreciation of space.
I can build and restore furniture, so would always love to share my love of that too.
If I have time we can go on a trip, go hiking, camping. Or if I don't have much time ( :( ) we can share meals together and just talk! :)
And cooking! I love to cook, always happy to cook for you or share a recipe x
