About Me
Current Mission...
To live with the earth, learn more of people, of architecture, of environments, of food and of realities outside of my own.
I'm a 27 year old female Masters of Architecture student. I travel by bike everywhere, love to draw, paint and read. I know how to milk cows, draw house plans, cook like a pro, can light a fire under any condition, use a sonic bat finder, and say "please fart" in Swedish. I'm currently working a couple of days a week with a creative builder, and study and adventure the rest :)
My former partner Ben Ellis and I made this account together as we travelled and then hosted in our hometown Newcastle. Since we have parted ways I’d love to direct you good people of CS to his profile also! Unfortunately I have kept all of our friends affirmations and references, and he is starting from scratch, so if you have been directed here to find references for him, Welcome! I can say from the deepest cracks of my heart that Ben is a truly good, caring, gentlemanly, fun, adventurous, sexy, conscientious person who you HAVE to meet and spend good time with, host him and stay with him – his presence will enrich your life :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I spent a little bit of time overseas a few years ago with my beautiful friend Ben.... Along the journey I couch-surfed, hitch-hiked and worked. Our goal was to connect, learn and in turn teach as much as possible. Now I have returned home to Aus I hope to balance the energy - to share some of the awesome love and kindness we were gifted by others. I believe that what comes around goes around.
Experience:
To date we have had the opportunity to stay with some of the kindest and most generous souls on the earth.
Interests
I am really interested in writing (or rather reading the writing of others) Anything that can make me laugh and then draw me to tears has my approval, I love philosophy (for beginners :P), science, architecture etc etc.
I also love action, and movement - anything that requires me to be up before the sun rises and challenging myself throughout the day. I like to rock climb, canyon, bike ride, outrig, hike, kayak horse ride etc etc etc
And space, architecture, art, light...

Music, Movies, and Books
H: I like the movie "Tracks" it's an Australian movie about a girl who walked across the desert with a few camels and a dog. It kind of reminded me of "Into the Wild" only unlike Christopher McCandles she was not deserting society for any particular reason, she just loved isolation and animals. I like essays, Philosophy, Biographies and Non Fiction. My favourite authors are Victor Frankl, Markus Zuzak, Brian Pollan, Jonathan Safran Foer, Glenn Albrecht...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
H: I kissed my 100 year old great Aunty Mollie on the cheek for her birthday.
But amazing things occur around me every minute - this earth is a beautiful place, and 100% of the time this beauty and amazingness has absolutely nothing to do with my presence upon it!
I was privileged enough to travel continuously over 26 months to 23 different countries, and to learn and despair in all that is involved in a life like that.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share my experience of growing up on a dairy farm, handling animals, growing plants, driving machinery, reading the weather. I could also share my passion for art and architecture, and my appreciation of space.
I can build and restore furniture, so would always love to share my love of that too.
If I have time we can go on a trip, go hiking, camping. Or if I don't have much time ( :( ) we can share meals together and just talk! :)
