Learn to surf- i.e overcome my coordination issues!

ABOUT ME

Just spent 10 months traveling the world....and couch surfing for the first time. I had an absolutely amazing time. I was continually overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of people. In true couch surfing spirit I am eager to give back. Currently...I am living with my dear mama until I find a new place..but then...let the surfing begin!

I am very easy going, open-minded, friendly and chatty; your actually unlikely to get a word in edge ways some times if i get excited about a topic! I am currently travelling and loving every single moment of it. I study psychology and are really interested in neuroscience and the biological bases of the brain. I intend to combine travel and study for as long as possible....it is the life! I also believe it is the most enjoyable way to expand your mind, that and the possible alternative (9-5pm job) I find too scary!

I like; crossword puzzles, surrealism, suspension bridges, hazelnuts, getting lost, proper grammar

I dislike; squeezing the last bit of toothpaste out, terrible music, people who clap at the end of films

I can't; juggle, read a map, hold a tune

Oh and please note! I don't live in London. I was born in England, have family there and set up my CS profile whilst in England. Instead i actualy live in australia...which is also awesome : )

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that every person that you meet and place you go brings out a slighty different part of you and thats how you learn about yourself and why travel can be such a transformational experience. I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to travel and challenge myself and are looking forward to every little thing that comes my way : )

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have surfed through Austria, Hungary, Croatia and Turkey. It was amazing! Can't wait to have my first surfer when I get back to aus :)

Interests

Being active- Travel (ha!), long distance running, exploring (usually involves getting lost and finding my way back again), being outdoors (especially deserted beaches)& hiking.
Being relaxed- watching films, reading books, napping, crosswords drinking tea!

Food! Food! Food! Breakfast is probably my favourite meal..but is closley followed by brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner! I have recently discovered a possibly excessive love for eggplant..and hazelnuts.

So in summary, anything that involves me being well fed, warm, snuggly and horizontal equals a happy hannah! As you can guess most of my studying happens in bed, perhaps that's why I'm not too productive sometimes!

Whenever I go to a new place I usually have three main aims,
1. Find a park which is both beautiful and suitable for napping in
2. Find best ice-cream place and sample it multiple times
3.Find a high point and climb to the top, for the view and the much needed exercise (see aim 2).

Completion of these pretty much always results in me having a wonderful conversation or experience with somebody I've randomly met along the way. It's the best : )

Music, Movies, and Books

Books- I read pretty much anything (except manuals on how to work my electronics...) books, magazines, signs...haha ; some top most recent ones include Crime and Punishment, The Enchantress of Florence, Mysteries, On the Road, The Book Theif, The Great Gatsby, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Northern Lights Trilogy, Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy.

Movies- Nothing I like more than a comfy blanket, a couch and a top movie (oh and snacks). Some include; Leon, Go, Pirates of the Carribean, Bridget Jones Diary, Lock Stock and Two Shooting Barrels, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, David Attenbrough :)

Music- I love listening to music, my genre is definitely lounge/chill out, anything with a wicked melody and some great lyrics (and i can nap too!). Unfortunately i am tone deaf and wasn't forced to overcome this as a child as thus cant play any instruments! I definitely appreciate and admire those who are not so challenged!

I have a relatively new found love for electronica/dance music (but the alternative not totally mainstream stuff) and house. My heart has always been disposed to trance too :) I am very happy to be further informed about any of the above genres and more!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Rockclimbing in Krabi, Thailand - it was challenging but incredibly rewarding, what a view!

2 week trip to Outback Australia in a mini van.

2day boat journey from the Thai border into Laos down the Mekong.

Horseback riding at sunset along a ridge overlooking Cappadocia in turkey, after randomly borrowing a lovely Turkish guys horse. Perfect moment.

Skydiving over the Swiss Alps- enough said!

Teach, Learn, Share

Learn learn learn! I am open to learn about anything and anybody. I love fun facts, especially when someone comes out with them at most unexpected times. Plus it makes you a valuable trivia companion!

The one i learnt today is that if 59 other aristocrats died the King of Norway would become King of England. Haha thankyou Royal Wedding Mania!

I'm not sure if this fits under teach, learn, share....but my pet hate is buying bottled water. If it's fine to drink out of the tsp...why pay for it and waste plastic! If we meet, I will preach to you about this..haha you have been warned.
