About Me

ABOUT ME

I am an outgoing anthropologist who wants nothing more than to travel the world for the rest of my life (though I don't think my bank account will allow that) I am always up for an adventure and I love a challenge and am willing to try anything once.

5 things I couldn't live without....... 1) books 2) good, dark, rich coffee 3) delicious food 4) my best friend and 5) the mountains

I have a very dry sense of humor (which I perceive as witty as well, but you can decide that for yourself) and I love to have a good time, whether it be a night on the town, or one spent in with friends.

PHILOSOPHY

Expect angels but expect nothing of them.

Honor the space between no longer and not yet.

The most important decision you make is to be in a good mood.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Amazing! The people I have met were absolutely brilliant and I can't wait to visit them again

Interests

Anything that involves being outdoors, especially hiking, kayaking, and biking. I'm trying to get into rock climbing and would love to skydive at some point as well. I also love climbing trees.

I love cooking and am quite good at it. I grew up in an Italian/Arabic household so my cooking style has very much been influenced by that.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite book is impossible to choose since reading is not just a hobby for me, it's a way of life but I love anything by Calvino. Current top books include 'We the Drowned,' 'Lab Girl,' 'Everything is Illuminated,' 'All the Light we Cannot See,' also anything by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and Yaa Gyasi. Saga, Barrier, Fence, Pretty Deadly, and LumberJanes are personal favorites in terms of graphic novels.

I love music. Period. Ludovico Einaudi, Sylvan Esso, Lizzo, James Blake, Raury, Anderson Paak, Banks, Andrew Bird, the XX, Fleet Foxes, Kehlani, Cigarettes After Sex, Palmistry, Jidenna, Janelle Monae....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was living in Barcelona, I participated in Correfoc during Mercé, which for those who are unfamiliar with Catalan, literally translates to "Fire Run". Essentially during this festival, there are "dragons" and "beasts" that set off fireworks and roman candles directly over you and all the people partaking run down the street under the embers and flames.

No eyebrows were singed off in this event however the shirt I wore was riddled with holes by the end of the run.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am such an Anthro nerd so always be prepared for me to spout that information at you.... and I love random facts, to the point that my coworkers nicknamed me "Snapple".

Also, I'm Italian/Arabic and a pretty good cook so I can whip up a mean pasta dish
