ABOUT ME

Hello hello.

I'm currently living in Dar es Salaam on a mission to learn more about Tanzanian language, life and education. I teach Swahili to foreigners, having studied and fallen in love wit the language myself, and also work as a writer/producer for an incredible edutainment non-profit which aims to make learning fun, relevant and accessible for children in East Africa (and eventually all over Africa!), so I spend a lot of my days writing songs and stories.

The sun definitely gets the better of me sometimes, but I do like to find time for hiking, adventuring, cooking, watching fine films, music, dancing and Sunday morning strolls.

I also love languages, books and discussing what makes the world go round.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met lots of lovely people through couchsurfing events in europe and India, such an honour to meet these warm hearted and welcoming people in the world!

I'm so happy to see that years on, some of the people I crossed paths with through couchsurfing are still some of my dearest friends!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Singing and dancing in a gospel church in Ghana. I'm not religious but i love the uplifting feeling of unity in places like that, it's really beautiful.

Hiking the Indraha Pass in India in just a pair of leggings and a light waterproof jacket, overcoming my fear of lightening and seeing some of the most spectacular scenery.

Going hiking and then to the natural hot spring in Moshi, Tanzania after the woman from the hostel said my cheap fake trainers didn't have 'profiles' and I wouldn't make it. Didn't fall over once did I? Silly woman...

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some Swahili very enthusiastically!

Or force you to come in and be a guest voice on our TV shows (that happens to almost anyone passing by our office - we need more voices dammit!)
