About Me
Hello!
What am I doing currently- I am working as a part time school teacher and freelance photographer (weddings, portraits, events) in Auckland.
I love love looooove the outdoors. I spend a lot of my weekends road tripping to camp, explore, hike about places in NZ (too easy when living in a stunning country like this one). I am forever googling spots in NZ and checking out satellite maps to find beautiful places!
I enjoy travelling and am always planning the next destination I can visit. My travel style is rather intrepid and I love meeting the locals and getting amongst their daily life, I use my camera as an aid to story tell and educate others on what I learn about on the road. Saving the hotels and resorts till when I'm retired and perhaps not as agile to go on a mad adventure with my backpack anymore.
I am very open, warm, curious. I like attending events/workshops in my city where I can have new experiences and meet people- whether it be laughing yoga, meditation or a meet up group thats heading on a hike.
It takes a lot to frazzle me, I'm pretty chilled and resilient! What some may see as a bad situation I'm quick to see the positives.
I'm on FB, have a nosy facebook.com/hannah.baker.904
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Although I am unable to host at the moment with my living situation, I often take out other couch surfers when they are visiting Auckland. I enjoy seeing Auckland's outdoors as much as a visitor does.
I participate by being what I would like to see in other travellers/backpackers. Courteous, open minded, positive, friendly, honest and being good company with others! I share my good spirit wherever I go...
'Giving back' to the community/area/country I am visiting is important to me, volunteering in various ways when possible.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travelling with the Berbers of Morocco as they made their bi-annual trek to a new location in the Dades Valley. A wonderful experience to have an insight into a completly different way of living with a beautiful family that lived off the land, had 'nothing' but everything at the same time.
Backpacking around India for 2 months, no plan, no given route. An adventure that introduced me to so many wonderful people and an incredible culture.
Living in London for 2 and a half years. Here my love for travelling blossomed, using London as my port to explore Europe. Fell in love with London itself with it's vibe, diversity and wackyness!
