CURRENT MISSION

BELGIUM CYCLE TRIP! Over the Easter bank holiday weekend, my soul sistaaaaa (Lucie, blonde in the photo!) and I are hopping on our bikes from London to Brussels! We will bring cakes, hugs, and boogie! We would love to meet some locals in Bruges and Ghent en route, soak up the street parties and go wherever the wind takes us!

ABOUT

I am a happy-go-lucky sort of gal, someone who never says no. I like engaging with people and learning about their lives and interests, and being the foody that I am, I also love hearing about what people like eating! I am a dietitian, and work with supremely underweight people who have difficulty eating. Lucie is a lawyer, and we are both starting up a charity together! I have had lots of lovelies couch surf at mine in the past, and thought it might be nice to go and visit those who stayed with me. I am pretty impulsive, spontaneous and flexible. I like to make people happy, and I like to smile a fair bit :) :) :) :) :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Thus far I have hosted 7 lovely couch-surfers from Europe and the USA. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know these charming people as individuals and couples, and took them out to show em what London is about. I haven't been able to host for some time as a couchsurfess, however I do live in a community house and we host other community members a lotttt! I love it!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In my last house, we hosted some lovely people, who we are still in touch with now. I went to visit Mai-Liis in Glasgow which was a dreamy trip! We hosted a lovely Mexican chap, a couple from Germany, and two lovely lassies from the Netherlands. I thoroughly enjoyed hosting, and it makes me sad that I cannot do so at the moment! I haven't actually couchsurfed that much and would really like to for this cycle trip coming up!

Interests

Baking - serious passion, I always end up making food for friends and hosting. You can expect us to bring you cake!
Language - love a good exchange - although I am pretty amateur.
Music - I play guitar (and the ukulele if you're lucky) and a good sing song is always fun.
Sport - I play ultimate frizbee in London and cycle EVERYWHERE! Great that the weather is so good!
Site-seeing - I love travel, exploration and discovery of new things. I love the challenge!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

SLINGSHOT! Opposite of a bungee jump, whereby you are released from the ground and flung into the air, harnessed around the torso and upright, soaring! Suddenly, at the peak of fling, a lurch and whooosh down towards the ground, but it is ok, you are a attached to a giant elastic which like a swing will pull you back up again. Breath-taking stuff!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have been a sex education teacher for a good few years now, but on the job I have learnt so much!

I teach communities how to cook in practical classes, and used to do cupcake decorating with kids.

I have been a youth leader running informal education activities since I was 14, and have taken teens on month-long trips. Wicked fun.
