About Me

Hello Hola! I’m Hannah from Scotland and I am staying in a yurt in an ecovillage called Findhorn! Just back from Europe exploring new places and attending some amazing workshops and gatherings; Slovenia for 10 days connecting with nature after an amazing time at the Global Ecovillage Network gathering in Germany. The people I meet and the ways of seeing the world that I come across are extremely valuable to me.

After travelling in South America and learning Spanish, I lived in Spain, I bought a van and ended up in Tuscany, italy where I lived for 1 year and a half. I then lived in a natural building and permaculture community in Greece for 6 months before coming back to Scotland for the first time in 5 years. Si, Hablo español e sto aprendendo italiano.

While travelling I was always learning and exploring, doing photography, videography, art, reading, hiking, being in the nature, meeting people. I continue to do these things while working here. I love to learn, I love to have new experiences of every kind. When I am couch surfing I am normally looking for a space to relax, have some down time with a glass of wine but also explore or do some activities- I love meeting new people and hearing their stories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In my place, I want to give back after the generosity I encountered on my travels. I also like to share, food. stories, skills.
When I am staying somewhere I want to feel a real part of the place / society / culture I am currently visiting, and see places I couldn't see alone, while exchanging stories, skills, food!

Interests

I was volunteering while travelling a lot; working on videos/films/photgraphy (and for fun) as well as a bit of permaculture, community living, and teaching. My favourite day is spent either reading a book in a coffee shop or hiking up a mountain. I love dogs, I love to surf and be in the water when I have the oppportunity. I will likely do yoga somewhere during the day!

Music, Movies, and Books

Electronic music or sometimes simple piano. Reading books about things I know nothing about.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent 2 weeks living in a Rainbow community in the Colombian rainforest on sacred land without money or clothes. The real exchange happens here. When you are stripped back of everything, all you see is the stuff that's real and honest, and connections form- with the people, with the nature.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have some digital skills. I don't like technology much but with film and photography I use it to tell stories or create art. Therefore, I have some knowledge of adobe programmes which aid me to do this.
I do some macrame, I travel with strings to create lighter holders or jewellery to fund my travels.
I love yoga, I am not a teacher but hope to get my qualification in India soon. I am happy to show you the basics though and join you in a flow.
I can speak Spanish...mas o menos.... and would love to practice this or share the basics of the language with someone else.
