About Me

ABOUT ME
I had a whole typed up profile on here and it was pretty cool, but as luck would have it my computer shut down in the middle of it, so here it goes:

I'm 26, I've couchsurfed randomly since 2014. I love couchsurfing for the wonderful people you meet and the great conversations!

My goal is to travel as much I can and hopefully someday I can return the favor and can offer a couch to my amazing hosts! I'm from close to Seattle, WA and have traveled to all parts of the U.S. through volunteer programs and random jobs. My 2019 goal is to get across the Atlantic to Europe!

I graduated with my Bachelors in Anthropology and Archaeology and love learning about new cultures and languages.

Interests

I like visit Libraries, Museums, and Science Centers. I really enjoy doing Archaeological digs and learning about Historic Events. I also like to learn about Science and go to Scientific Lectures. I enjoy hiking, and being outdoors in general.

Music, Movies, and Books

For sure Harry Potter is my one nerdy thing (its fine if you don't like HP, we just dont have to talk about it :) If you do like HP, please nerd out with me by all means! (I'm a Hufflepuff).

I love reading, learning about and talking about history and science.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wow, this is hard. One of the coolest things I've done was stand on a pretty high ledge in a canyon looking at petroglyphs. I've also held a 10,000 year old artifact in my hands which is pretty amazing.
Helping with disaster relief and volunteering is something I get great joy out of that's also pretty cool!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm in a very slow process of learning Spanish and next year plan to be in Europe where I can hopefully learn it in a more immersive environment. Open and trying to learn as many languages as I can, but Spanish, French, and Danish are my top 3. I used to be fluent in American Sign Language (grew up with an HoH dad) and would love to practice with anyone interested. It's a lot of fun.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversation, exploring places, generally having a good time!

I've had hosts that like to show me around the city and go to events with me. I've also had hosts that are busy during the day and very welcoming in the evening to talk and hang out. Either is perfectly fine with me! I love the company but I also love the chance to explore independently. I love pets, so if you have any, id love to meet them! I am not a smoker or anything else, but do like to occasionally have a drink with a host if offered (not necessary to have fun though). I am a night owl, but I don't party when I travel. I am respectful of my hosts and will always ask if I can come back later in the evening if there's an event or something I'd like to go to while I'm there.

I see couchsurfing as a chance to get to know people from around the world and not just as a place to stay. Literally a couch is fine, a room is awesome, or a comfy spot on the floor with a pillow and blanket will do. I'm an outdoorsy person, so I really don't need much to be happy.

It's sad that this has to be stated, but since I've had an iffy experience before, Please know that couchsurfing is a way of meeting new friends for me and nothing else. Please respect that.
