Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am about to embark on a rather epic research trip that will start in Montgomery, Alabama on the first ofSeptember and will finish in NYC on the 29th of September.
The core of this trip is focused on quilt making. I am a quilter myself and am wanting to experience a bit of the American quilting heritage. My plan is to visit the ladies of the Gee's Bend in Boykin, Alabama and also the Amish up in Pennsylvania. What happens in between I'm leaving fairly open and keeping my fingers crossed that some magic will happen.
I have couch surfed before when I was travelling in Canada. The experience was so great and the people I met were such gems that I felt this should be the way to further feed my journey from south to north.
Oh and I would love to learn to juggle, anyone willing to help a gal out?

Interests

Art's the big one, but there are so many facets that come under that massive umbrella that interest me that I think a coffee and a cake is definitely necessary whilst embarking on this topic. So let me know if you wanna grab a coffee and a cake some time and will talk art.
Other than that the usual things crop up; movies, books, dancing until my feet hurt, bit of a magpie; likes most things shiny, cooking; I do love the food, bouncing ideas around, making some of those realities and tries to yoyo from time to time...
