About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Enjoy life and see the world. Cliché, i know.
ABOUT ME
Hi there! I'm an optimistic person looking for as many new experiences as possible. I've spend half a year in Iowa and half a year in Kristiansand, Norway as an exchange student. Experiencing new things and meeting tons of new people...wish i could be on exchange forever! I really loved every second of it. At the moment I'm studying bio-engineering in Ghent. It's incredibly interesting (I often sit with my mouth wide open in class, amazed at how interesting science is) but still i'm really looking forward to summer break so I can go out and explore again :)
PHILOSOPHY
Life is what you make of it so i wanna take every opportunity i can get and make the best i possibly can out if it. Live life to the fullest! On my travels i've learned that your first idea of something isn't always the right one so i try to start everything without prejudices. You get so much more out of life with a positive attitude, loads of energy and not judging on first impressions. And as you only have 1 life, i wanna get as much out of it as i can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I still live with my parents (poor student as i am) so hosting's a bit difficult at the moment but i can't get enough of surfing. It's such a great way to get to get to know new (and uasually amazing) people and get to know a country from the inside out. I'm not a big fan of getting to know a country through the touristy stuff, the atmosphere and the people are much more important.
I also love the CS gatherings. In Antwerp we have 2 bar gatherings a month and i always try to make it to those. If you can't go out into the world, the world can come to you. :) And the CS Antwerp community is awesome as well, tons of nice people!

Music, Movies, and Books
This is the hardest question of them all because i like a wide variety of things. Here are some examples;
Music: Sigur Rós, soundtracks by Yann Tiersen (especially
Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain), Beethoven, Buraka Som Sistema, Johnny Cash, Kaizers Orchestra, PJ Harvey, Bob Dylan, Don McLean, Jacques Brel, Leonard Cohen, Nina Simone, Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Pink Floyd, Bach, Cat Stevens, Vivaldi, Manu Chao, Goran Bregovic, ...
Movies: Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain (you could say this is my all time favourite), Black Cat White Cat, Nuovomondo, The Boat That Rocked, The Godfather, A Clockwork Orange, Walk The Line, Trainspotting, Into The Wild, The Motorcycle Diaries, Bottle Shock, Once,...
Books: I love the classics (because they're classics for a reason); Dickens, Tolkien, Tolstoy, Austen (i know, girly), Steinbeck, C. S. Forester, Claus (great Belgian writer), Jostein Gaarder (great Norwegian writer), ...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Snøhuletur in Norway; you go cross country skiing in the woods, build a sort of cave in the snow (keeps you busy for quite a while) and then spend the night in it. Incredibly cold but a fantastic experience!
