About Me

love. adventure. smiles. giving. compassion.

I'm exploring the unconventional life within the conventions. Living on the outskirts as a measure of freedom.

I like to spend time reading, thinking and drawing. More frequently I spend time chasing our children, or just watching them play together in the sunny grass.

I love... old finnish saunas! long dinners with friends. standing in the rain (when it's warm inside). grooving to funky tunes. floating on the warm ocean. sharing stories. long swedish 'fika' - conversation and coffee and hours.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I just love the idea of open houses, and welcoming communities. Although I now live with my family, I'm still searching for a tribe and I think couchsurfing can create that possibility. Travel can take us into the other, and the turn around you're the friend again.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm becoming more deliberate in the media that I expose myself to. I now choose selectively with an emphasis on emotional depth, transformation, quirkyness, and inspiration. A few films I've seen recently and loved: Safety not guaranteed and Jeff, who lives at home. Older ones I've enjoyed: Sliver Linings Playbook, the intouchables, Goodbye Lenin.

On the books side of things, I'm a little out of touch due to the time demands of parenting. I've been loving the Brain that Changes Itself, and the sequel - love thinking about neuroplasticity and its possibilities anytime. I'm also enjoying The Achievement Habit, and very interested in the broader applications of design thinking.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walked el camino de Santiago. It's worth it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to share adventures, stories, food, music and thinking. If you stay with us, we'll do our best to include you in our daily life: this can include swimming, the skate park, camping, long coffee sessions, renovations!!

We live in one of the most spectacular regions of NSW, with gorgeous beaches you’ll have to yourself. Our town is small but full of delightful coffee, produce & humans :)
