About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live life barefoot! And while doing it; seek Mystery in it's very fibre.

ABOUT ME

My motto in life is Seeking Mystery in the fibre of Life.

I am the involved product of my relations; a fresh and new beginning with a fellow traveler (my very best friend and wife), my ex-wife, my 5-year old son, my friends, my past, present and future, my theological class and by (my perception of) G-d. However, my identity doesn’t stop there; it is also formed by the way I live, my patterns of consumption, the books I read and those I don’t read, my relation to nature and the choices I make. These are only a few of the things that make me part of an intricate web-of-being. Thus at the same time I am being constituted and constituting at the same time.

Of specific interest is my response to nature, the beauty of Creation and an undeniable ecological crisis that face this planet, called Earth. It colours the tint of my glasses green and influences the way I dress, read (especially the Bible), study, work, consume, dispose and enjoy.

I am (cosmic) dust and to (cosmic) dust I will return, who knows in which form!

A little added thought to expand a little bit on living life barefoot:

With shoes we tread without a thought. We stomp around without a care in the world! There is no need; we are not discomforted by the place we choose to rest heavily for awhile. And more often than not we leave a small catastrophe behind with each step, blissfully unaware of the carnage, for our feet are encased in foot armor.

Going barefoot changes the equilibrium; no longer can we go blissfully unaware. We move to the other side of the equation, we are increated, acutely aware of what is underfoot. Stomping hurts, not only where we choose to stomp, but it causes pain to ourselves at the same time. Maybe we should rather say, the carnage is still the same, we just become aware of the effect of our tread, to others and to ourselves.

So please go barefoot, be increated, tread lightly, and live simply. Maybe such acts of simplicity and humbleness will allow others to simply live, and by grace, maybe, with an awareness of God.

For now this is it, I will expand this, together with proof words and other interesting links about myself.
