About Me

CURRENT MISSION

clean out the cobwebs in my soul

ABOUT ME

I'm an open, engaging guy who's seen both wonderful and terrible things in plenty of places and I don't plan to stop travelling any time soon. I find the worth in late night parties and (probably more frequently) early morning coffee with a book. I'm currently taking a break between undergrad and grad school when I plan to study intercultural conflict resolution. I've got plenty to share and even more left to discover.

Interests

I love to bike, read, share stories and cook good food (especially cooking as a team effort). I could stay up till three am talking developmental economic policy or planning how to survive a zombie outbreak and be just as content so long as I'm in good company.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For about five months last year I lived in the Occupied Palestinian Territories and Israel studying water issues in the conflict there. Half way through my stay I traveled to NI was able to track down a Tibetan monk who shared a great deal of wisdom with me, as well as meet several traveling Israelis all across the country-one of whom was from an Israeli town no less than mile from a Palestinian refugee camp I had stayed in.
Another moment of awe came just a few months back when I was climbing in Yosemite with some friends of mine. There was a two-pitch climb called Jam-Crack which brought us 50 meters up on a rock face, putting us above the treeline with gorgeous views of the valley. It was unbelievably compelling just to be there.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a considerable amount about religion but am not religious myself. I studied military occupation and natural resources in the Israel/Palestine conflict and lived in Palestinian Refugee camps, working for a non-violence organization. I'm a bit of a prodigal environmentalist. I'm interested in learning more about sustainable ways of living and hope to discover some insight that will help resolve petty conflict and promote healthy, peaceful living for communities all around the planet.
