Overview
About Me
Hi! I’m Hans, a university student studying human geography. I just graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and I’m starting my masters studies at the University of Kentucky in August. I want to study how our understandings of science and technology changes the ways we view our bodies and our situatedness in place and space! I’m very interested in critical theory and philosophy. I just completed my Senior Thesis about Alaska Native land issues and oil development. I studied abroad in Germany (Lüneburg) when I was in high school and went on to minor in German in college. I am pretty fluent in german and am always looking to practice!
As of June 13th I’m currently traveling across Germany and peeping across the borders visiting friends from my exchange year and exploring towns in between. I am really interested in hearing about new experiences and learning from others!
I’ve joined CS very recently! So more than anything I’m looking for connections and maybe to meet up for a beer or coffee. It would be great to stay somewhere, but I totally understand with my lack of references and hosting experience if there is hesitation. Also I’m vegetarian :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to make life long friends and be a part of an international community. I’m eventually looking to host and show people my beautiful corner of the country as well! I don’t just want free accommodations, I mostly want to make sure the vibe is right before I stay anywhere as well. I’m always looking for hidden gems, hole in the wall restaurants, and dive bars.
